Come one Come all!! The 2009 Six Pack Downhill Season is upon us. Get ready for weekly chills, thrills, and spills as we ride some of the best trails and downhills in the valley! Tradition continues for the 15th season, meet at Food Lion on Rt. 42 South at 2:45 every Friday. A Six Pack of beers the ante to ride. The ride will be at a different trail each week, announced on this forum. The winner hosts the post ride "gathering" and rides the Trek Navigator and wears the winner's jersey the next week as a reward for winning the downhill. But the fun does not stop there. Trail Work Saturdays are back and in a big way!

For the past 14 years after the Six Pack and Party, riders have met each Saturday Morning to bust some moves, work off hangovers, and give back to the trails we ride so much. This year will be no exception, as we have outlined some big plans for a few of the trails in the George Washington National Forest. Meet Saturday mornings at 9:00 AM at the same Food Lion on Rt. 42 South. Trail Work Saturdays are not only a great time with good people, but let's not forget ANY rider who wishes, hopes, and dreams to ride the 15th Annual Six Pack Downhill Invitational MUST do AT LEAST 2 Trail Work Days during the season.

With all that said and formalities out of the way, it is my pleasure to announce the official start of the 15th annual SIX PACK DOWNHILL season this week 28 August 2009 at HIGH KNOB! Come get a taste (or revenge) of last year's invitational ride high atop 33 West dropping over 2900 feet of elevation in under 3 miles into Brandywine. Meet at Food Lion on Rt. 42 South at 2:45. Don't forget Six Pack. If you can't make it to Food Lion, head straight out 33 West, we will be parking along 33 W near the Brandywine Lake Recreation area. Hey Bud Let's Party!

4 September 2009 SIX PACK DOWNHILL will be at Chimney Hollow! Hope Y'all like goin' fast because it's a ripper. The Navigator will make its first appearance of the season, race tuned and ready to humble some Six Pack-ers.

There are times in every young riders life when one must make a crucial decision...this is that moment. Shall I embarrass my family, town, and clan by choosing to BAIL upon this Six Pack Downhill, or shall I leave my tread upon this earth with pride. For too long, we have endured excuses, mechanicals, and jealous spouses - no longer. We must demand the very best out of our downhill steeds and more importantly, ourselves. A nameless poet once said, "Now listen all ye slummers - Chimney Hollow - September 4th, 2009." This is our time to honor our ancestors and their hallowed Navigators. Now come ride with me. Details are as follows. Food lion leaving promptly at 3 or at Chimney Hollow parking area on rt. 250. Long climb. Leave the training wheels at home but remember to pick up the chest plates on the way out the door. Toodles.

September 11 SIX PACK DOWNHILL will be at ROAD HOLLOW on Rt. 250. Meet at Food Lion rt. 42 South at 2:45. Parking at Mountain House on Rt. 250. This Week's Navigator Joel May-nariO will be assaulting this very technical super flowing single track on the Navigator and in full winner's Kit. Will he still be vomiting from last Friday's after party or because he's pushing the navigator to the max? Or is he setting the party standard of anyone who earns the right to pilot the navigator downhill.!?! Last weeks women's winner Susan-uh Haywoodja will be absent this week, opening the door for a new Ladies Gold Medalist. Last week saw an overflowing cornucopia of new comers bringing home some seriously fast times...will it be a one week fluke? Hope to see everyone out at Food Lion, or out at the trail! And Don't forget TRAILWORK SATURDAYS going down in the morning after the "mellow" SIX PACK Party at the winners chateau. MEET at FOOD LION 9 am or out at the trail head. Bring your bike! Trail work Saturday is the place to be, work off that hangover and be seen getting dirty with the who's who of H-Burg cycling scene!! Don't be lame, come out and work...just don't talk about it, be about it! This Saturday we will be pimping out THE Lynn trail; so, Saturday come out for some recon and work so we can rip it later in the six pack season. VIVA LE NAVIAGATOR!

YEEHAW! 2 October Six Pack Downhill will be at GROOMS Ridge! One of our signature donwhills in the National Forest. As usual meet at Food Lion Rt. 42 South at 2:45. Parking at the trail head on Tillman road or Wild Oak Parking area. The ride will go up the downhill to the overlook that makes for a great starting area. Goggles and Full face helmets? Good Idea.

Six Pack Downhill for 9 October 2009 will be the Annual Mountain Bike Festival Kick off event! Tradition lives on with Trimble Mountain , also Known as Boy Scout!!!! No need to meet at Food Lion this week. Same time frame but instead of meeting at Food Lion just head out to either Stokesville Campground to join folks already at the campground, a big group normally rolls from there to Trimble. Or meet at the trail head for Trimble on Forest Road 95 . Continue past the Wild oak parking area, the trail head is on the left with an RV dump station on right. Parking is tight in this area so it's best to ride from the campground. No need to bring a Six pack, beverages are provided a la SVBC. You can register for the Mountain bike festival at the campground if you have not already registered. If you aren't staying for the weekend , throw in a few bucks for the food and drink provided! It's a good ol' fashioned hootenanny!! YEEE HAAWWW !

Six Pack Downhill for 16 October 2009 will be the Lynn Trail! Always a classic super fast downhill. Rain or Shine meet at Food Kitty on Rt. 42 S. at 2:45. Due to the decreasing daylight we'll really need to get on leaving the parking lot as soon as possible, so 2:45 be there. Don't let a little water falling from the sky make you tuck your tail between your legs. Parking at the Dam on Reddish and riding up the road to get piece of Timber ridge before letting it fly on Lynn. See you there!!!!!!! Viva Le Navigator!!!!!
